What is Done For DiDI?

#DoneForDiDi was born out of providing amplification to the necessary, valid stories of cash poor Black women and non-men. Many experts that are credentialed in poverty are far removed from living within the narrative of poverty. We assert that persons experiencing poverty are the best experts. Don’t know where you land on the privilege meter? No worries, #DoneForDiDi is a battle cry for action, now.

What exactly am I doing for DiDi?

The #DoneForDiDi - White Labor Collective is a community led by Black women and MaGes (Marginalized Genders) to educate y'all on racism and all the other "'isms".

This is the place where it's safe for you as a non-Black person to ask and learn about systemic racism, the traumas caused by oppression, experiences of Black people and other related issues without having to burden or trigger those Black non-men that you know.

Through the group curriculum (Learning Units) and posts, our goal is to provide our members with the knowledge to mobilize to dismantle white supremacy within themselves and their communities, and to tangibly support Black liberation through reparations.

For providing this education, we ask for a minimum of $10/month from all members.

Your $10 minimum recurring (monthly)
contribution can be made at DonorBox.ORG

Please make sure you click on “Monthly” instead of “One-time”.

It is our expectation that people with privilege do the right thing. Join the group.

SINCE DECEMBER 2017, #DONEFORDIDI HAS AMPLIFIED AND FUNDED CLOSE TO 1000 INDIVIDUALS. MEMBERS’ REPARATIONS GO TO TWO PLACES:

(1) To support the admins, who are all Black and brown women and non-men. Admins create and curate content, and also assess, respond to, and follow up with needs within the BIPOC community.

(2) To the DonorBox fund, which is distributed as reparations to Black women and non-men who are experiencing food insecurity, facing eviction, and other forms of adversity caused by systemic racism and oppression.

  • Micro-funding for 8-16 cash poor individuals with urgent immediate needs known as “Petty Cash”.

  • Seed funding of projects such as #DoneForDiDi Semi-Annual Book Drive, the Capitol District’s monthly Books & Breakfast program, and The Full Set - a podcast that centers Black voices in intimate, entertaining and candid conversations.

  • Stipends to local organizers of $200 - $300 to provide a small cushion to their own footing.

  • Back-end administrative support, advertising and paid internships.

We don’t need you to be perfect in this group

WE ASK THAT YOU SHOW UP, IMPERFECTLY, WITH A WILLINGNESS TO LEARN, TO BE CORRECTED, AND TO BE ACCOUNTABLE TO YOUR FELLOW MEMBERS AND THE ADMIN TEAM.

Once you join the group you will be contacted by a moderator to join a Starter Pod which will help you get used to the group, make connections, and to work with a small group to begin the process of learning how the group works and what exactly you are doing for DiDi.

This is life-long learning, multiple voices and experiences make up your education.

Don't Make Excuses

"I'm already doing this for Black non-men in my community" is not a valid reason for NOT financially contributing here. We're all doing things for others. This is a reparations group and your contributions are expected.

You Don’t Know Better Than Us

If you did, we wouldn’t need to say “Follow Black Leadership”.

If you are a Black woman, femme or non cis male and you need to be connected to an advocate, or you believe we can provide you assistance please fill out this form.

Alternatively, if you are a person in a position of privilege and/or power and you're looking to give back to you community in a radical way, consider providing a skill for free or engaging in a co-sharing of ideology by filling out this form.
